Research says: Young adults can’t tell right from wrong
A new book exploring the values of today’s young people and their inability to discuss issues from a moral point of view, has received widespread attention in the international media. Young people, it claims, lack the skills needed “to intelligently assess, evaluate, and critique various moral beliefs and arguments.” A reviewer in the UK magazine, The Economist, described the American book as “intensely and uncomfortably thought-provoking.” The situation described in it can be found any day among the students of any Irish third-level college.

Chaput criticises ‘comfort religion’ that has no impact on society
Philadelphia’s Archbishop Charles Chaput has said that too many people who claim to be Christian simply don’t know Jesus Christ. And don’t really believe in the Gospels. “They feel embarrassed by their religion and vaguely out of step with the times. They may keep their religion for comfort value. Or they may adjust it to fit their doubts,” he said.
